Wow! It's hard to believe that we are starting another new school year! This is my 8th year at Graford I.S.D, and there have been many changes during those years. Each change is implemented to improve our district and to create an environment where your child can learn, grow, and thrive.
In the past few years we have added 1:1 technology for our students as well as partnerships with Texas State Technical College, Weatherford College, and Region 5 in effort to better prepare our students for life after high school. This year our changes involve adding a time period through the day known as "Mega Lunch." We know have time built in to offer tutoring, accelerated instruction, ZAP, and social opportunities through clubs and organizations. Now our students who may have commitments after school or those who don't have transportation will have the same opportunities as all other students.
As I met with our students this year, the emphasis is on expectations. As I told them, I have high expectations for them this year, and I hope they will always be working hard and striving to learn and be their best. However, my expectations don't begin and end with them. There are high expectations for the teachers and staff, and, yes, even for myself. If we are all working towards the same goal with the same intensity, then we can't help but succeed. I know this is going to be a great year! If you need me for anything, my door is always open. I anticipate us working together so your child can be as successful as possible and reach his/her full potential. Please feel free to call if you have any questions or concerns.
