The School Board of the Graford Independent School District met in a special meeting, Monday, August 6, 2007, at 7:00 p.m., with the following members in attendance: Matt Biery, Kay Lynn Bridges, Hal Brown, Eddie Laney, Mike Pendergraft, Ronnie Ranft and Chance Welch, Superintendent.

 

Vice President Matt Biery called the meeting to order.

There was a quorum present.

1.         Motion by Bridges, seconded by Laney, move that the Graford ISD 2007-2008 proposed tax rates for             Maintenance and Operation be $1.040050 and Interest and Sinking be $0.052831 for a total proposed            tax rate of $1.092881.

                                                                        Motion Carried: 6 - 0

2.         Motion by Bridges, seconded by Brown, to approve setting August 30, 2007 as the meeting date to      conduct budget hearing, adopt the 2007-2008 budget and set the tax rate.

3.         Motion by Laney, seconded by Pendergraft, to approve FNA (LOCAL) Policy.

4.         Motion by Brown, seconded by Laney, to approve reimbursement of Penalty-Interest fees for property             of a private citizen.

                                                                        Motion Carried: 6 - 0

5.         Motion by Laney, seconded by Bridges, to approve going with TASB for Graford ISD Property /         Casualty Insurance.

                                                                        Motion Carried: 6 - 0

6.         Motion by Bridges, seconded by Pendergraft, to approve going with State Farm for Graford ISD Vehicle             Insurance.

                                                                        Motion Carried: 6 - 0

            The Graford ISD School Board went into closed session at 7:21 p.m. and came out at 7:47 p.m.

                        a. Motion by Laney, seconded by Brown, to approve the hire of Ann Criswell as Secondary Math

                           Teacher also Kelly Pritchard as Secondary Spanish Teacher.
