PC Operating System
The recommended operating system is Microsoft Windows XP (Service Pack 1) or 2000 (current service pack).
Browser Setup
The recommended browser for txGradebook is Internet Explorer 7.0 or later. txGradebook will also work with Mozilla Firefox 3.0 or later for Windows XP or Windows 2000. Mac OS X users should use Firefox. Please check your browser settings to ensure that your browser is set up to accommodate the txGradebook requirements.
Note: Some antivirus software blocks cookies and pop-up windows. In addition to the instructions below, check your antivirus software to ensure that it is not blocking cookies or pop-up windows from txGradebook.
Resolution
The recommended video resolution is 1024 x 768 (small fonts).
To check the resolution settings of your monitor:
Right-click on the Desktop and select Properties. The Display Properties dialog box appears.
Click the Settings tab. Screen area should be set to 1024 by 768 pixels.
Click Advanced. Font Size should be set to Small Fonts.
Click OK twice to close both dialog boxes.
To add txGradebook to the trusted sites:
Adding the txGradebook Web site to the trusted sites means that you trust txGradebook to use cookies. The use of cookies is required for proper operation of txGradebook.
In the browser, from the Tools menu, select Internet Options. The Internet Options dialog box is displayed.
From the Internet Options dialog box, click Security.
Under Select a zone to view or change security settings, click Trusted sites.
Click Sites. The Trusted sites dialog box is displayed.
Under Add this website to the zone, type the exact Web site address that you use to access txGradebook.
Note: If the Web site address begins with https, then select Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone. If the Web site address does not begin with https, then ensure that Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone is not selected.
Click Add. The Web site will appear under Websites.
To close the Trusted sites dialog box, click Close.
To close the Internet Options dialog box, click OK.
To disable the pop-up blocker for txGradebook:
txGradebook occasionally uses pop-up windows to display information. The pop-up blocker must be disabled for the txGradebook Web site for proper operation of txGradebook.
In the browser, from the Tools menu, select Internet Options. The Internet Options dialog box is displayed.
From the Internet Options dialog box, click Privacy. If Turn on Pop-up Blocker is selected, then continue.
Under Pop-up Blocker, click Settings. The Pop-up Blocker Settings dialog box is displayed.
Under Address of website to allow, type the exact Web site address that you use to access txGradebook.
Click Add. The Web site will appear under Allowed sites.
To close the Pop-up Blocker Settings dialog box, click Close.
To close the Internet Options dialog box, click OK.
To enable cookies for txGradebook:
The use of cookies is required for proper operation of txGradebook.
In the browser, from the Tools menu, select Options. The Options dialog box is displayed.
From the Options dialog box, click Privacy.
Under Cookies, click Exceptions. The Exceptions - Cookies dialog box is displayed.
Under Address of web site, type the exact Web site address that you use to access txGradebook.
Click Allow. The Web site will appear under Sites, and the Status will be set to Allow.
To close the Exceptions - Cookies dialog box, click Close.
To close the Options dialog box, click OK.
To enable pop-up windows for txGradebook:
txGradebook occasionally uses pop-up windows to display information. The pop-up blocker must be disabled for the txGradebook Web site for proper operation of txGradebook.
In the browser, from the Tools menu, select Options. The Options dialog box is displayed.
From the Options dialog box, click Content.
Next to Block pop-up windows, click Exceptions. The Allowed Sites - Popups dialog box is displayed.
Under Address of web site, type the exact Web site address that you use to access txGradebook.
Click Allow. The Web site will appear under Sites, and the Status will be set to Allow.
To close the Allowed Sites - Popups dialog box, click Close.
To close the Options dialog box, click OK.
To enable JavaScript for txGradebook:
JavaScript must be enabled for the txGradebook Web site for proper operation of txGradebook.
In the browser, from the Tools menu, select Options. The Options dialog box is displayed.
From the Options dialog box, click Content.
Ensure that Enable JavaScript is selected.
To close the Options dialog box, click OK.
To enable cookies for txGradebook:
The use of cookies is required for proper operation of txGradebook.
In the browser, from the menu bar, select Safari, and then select Preferences. The Preferences dialog box is displayed.
In the Preferences dialog box, select Security.
Next to Accept Cookies, select Only from sites you navigate to.
Close the Preferences dialog box.
To enable JavaScript for txGradebook:
JavaScript must be enabled for the txGradebook Web site for proper operation of txGradebook.
In the browser, from the menu bar, select Safari, and then select Preferences. The Preferences dialog box is displayed.
In the Preferences dialog box, select Security.
Next to Web Content, ensure that Enable JavaScript is selected.
Close the Preferences dialog box.

Window Navigation
Users are encouraged to use the main menu and submenus to navigate from one page to another.
The following suggestions will reduce the number of client workstation problems with txGradebook.
Avoid using the browser function keys.
Do not use the browser toolbars; for example, Standard Buttons, Address Bar, or Links.
Click logout
to exit the application when finished; do not click
to exit the application.
If you attempt to open a page within txGradebook from your favorites list or the Go To menu, the system will first display the Login page if you are not already logged on. Once you have successfully logged on to txGradebook, the requested page will be displayed. Be aware that any unsaved changes on the page you were viewing will be lost, and a warning message may not be displayed.
Do not open multiple txGradebook pages in different windows.
Warning: Do not use the Back button or shortcut keys to navigate from one window to another. Use of these in a maintenance function will produce unreliable results.
